Snetterton
I really thought we were going to break the Snet jinx. However it was not to be, despite testing well, qualifying was hampered by too much under steer and we therefore lined up fifth and sixth for the two races.
The rain drought was swiftly broken at the beginning of our Saturday race. Awaiting the start of the race we were on slicks next moment we hurridley then changed to wets as a light shower of rain commenced. Unfortunately we chose the wrong tyres, as no one was to know the shower was to become a deluge after three laps and the handling of the car swiftly deteriorated to a point whereby I believed the rear axle had been replaced with a castor from a supermarket shopping trolley. The race was the longest 25 minutes ever as the car was pitching itself into a half spin every time I turned the steering wheel. I was very relieved to see the chequered flag as it loomed up in the mist of spray and rain after 16 tortured laps and a paltry ninth place finish.
At least Sundays race was dry and we were hoping for a reversal in our fortunes, however the changes we made to cure the under steer then manifested themselves into far too much oversteer and it was affecting my pace far too much. I finished eighth having dropped two places from my starting position having had some very interesting battles all through the race which was fun but frustrating as I knew I couldn't drive away from my pursuers as we just didn't have the car to do so. In all we had a tough weekend and these kind of things happen so we look to Donington again in a few weeks time and I'm sure we will bounce back up to the front once more.
