Croft

Motor sport is full of emotional ups and downs and at present we are down.

Very down.

Ever since the differential was replaced at the Donington meeting the car has not felt right. We were off the pace there, suffering with bad understeer, once again at Croft the same problem manifested itself and was not fully cured even after lots of adjustments and tinkering.

We qualified fourth and third for both races and that was a disappointment as I'd been substantially quicker than that in pre season testing.

Then came the two race starts, I say starts but this isn't strictly true, we didn't actually start either off them.

I was on the grid with everyone else but each time I tried to make a racing start the transmission broke, despite me being extra careful, we were only lucky that no one managed to hit us.

Clearly the differential is either fitted incorrectly or its faulty.

So that's it I'm out of the championship chase, the team are upset and depressed, I'm beside myself with frustration and even the birds have stopped singing.

I'm going to take up crocheting instead, the only upside of Croft was taking my son Rupert out in the car on the Friday track day as can be seen on the images.

More news soon.
