Plans for 2008

After much deliberation and negotiation I am pleased to announce my return
to the Elf Renault Clio Cup for 2008. Over the off season I was trying to
put together a deal that would see me partake in the BTCC, however at
present it is not to be. Xero Competition have attempted to develop their
Lexus into a competitive proposition but it is still some way off and I had
to either commit to something or face the prospect of taking a year off -
impossible!

Lee Brookes at Total Control Racing is someone I know well and he has been
complicit in enticing me back to his team. An invitation to test at the
first official Clio test last week saw me hit the ground running as I went
4th fastest within an hour of first seeing the car. I think there is more to
come and I want to focus on achieving podium results every time we race as I
will be missing four races at Brands and Donington due to business
commitments. As ever TCR have prepared an excellent car that ran perfectly.
Their standards are as high as ever and we are hoping to reclaim the teams
championship this year, something I helped them do several times already.

Of course I couldn't do anything at all without the support of my sponsors
and its a credit to advertising giant McCann Erickson and shopping behaviour
experts SBXL.com in their patience and understanding in backing the Clio
campaign as they had previously been sold on the BTCC idea. We will be
debuting at Rockingham on the 12th & 13th April and with excellent TV
coverage this year I hope to give maximum publicity to my sponsors and so my
Mum can cheer me on from her home in France.
